COURSE OUTLINE The Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB51915) has been developed by industry professionals and endorsed by a number of industry bodies to equip you with the practical knowledge and skills required to step up and hit the ground running as a team leader or manager in small, medium or large organisation, across all industry sectors.
Providing a broad introduction to business management functions, you will learn and develop fundamental business skills, including financial, project and risk management, customer service and the ability and confidence to manage a team of employees.
CAREER OUTCOMES In today’s business world, team leaders and managers need a range of skills in order to achieve success and balance in keeping stakeholders, customers and employees satisfied. They need to be able to motivate staff and possess the skills to organise the day-to-day operations of a business while planning for the future with the bigger picture in mind. A manager must also be across the financial goals of a business and ensure that their division or team is being run effectively and efficiently. Graduates of the Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB51915) will have the knowledge and skills to secure a position in a small, medium or large sized business at a Supervisory or Management Level.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS If you do not hold a High School Certificate you may apply for entry to this VET Diploma. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis. You must attach certified copies of your qualifications and CV or resume outlining required work experience and other formal or informal qualifications and certificates for your application to be processed. All documents must be in English.
A minimum of a Year 12/High School Certificate from a recognised PNG or Australian High School is required. If your High School Certificate was not taught in English, please attach evidence to indicate you have: an IELTS score of 5.5. You will be required to meet the Language, Literacy and Numeracy standards for the course.

This subject describes the skills and knowledge required to manage a range of meetings including overseeing the meeting preparation processes, chairing meetings, organising the minutes and reporting meeting outcomes. Students will also learn how to manage document design and production processes to ensure agreed standards are met.
BSBMGT517 Manage operational plan
This subject describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and monitor implementation of the operational plan to provide efficient and effective workplace practices within the organisation’s productivity and profitability plans.
BSBRSK501 Manage risk
This subject describes skills and knowledge required to manage risks in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit.
BSBPMG522 - Undertake project work
This subject describes the skills and knowledge required to undertake a straightforward project or a section of a larger project. It covers developing a project plan, administering and monitoring the project, finalising the project and reviewing the project to identify lessons learned for application to future projects
